Intensive Model of Physical Therapy

Intensive Physical Therapy

We use IMOT Intensive Physical Therapy to help children with disabilities. Our specialized therapists will create a personalized treatment plan for your child.  A typical plan consists of 4 therapy hours a day, 5 days a week over a 3-week period. This intensive physical therapy treatment period allows us to understand exactly how your child’s body responds to different approaches and modalities. The intensive model allows us the time to introduce new and more normalized patterns of movement. We then use our skills to modify and change our approach to meet your child’s responses to a variety of techniques.  A customized home exercise program is then developed to continue the positive movement patterns at home, school and in the community.

Intensive Physical Therapy

The intensive physical therapy approach enhances the brain’s ability to create other neuro pathways to perform movement and basic functions, helping your child to achieve maximum ability.  Capitalizing on neuro plasticity research, the most effective time to do this is during a child's growth spurts.  We love to interact with infants, young children, pre-teens, teenagers, and those with special challenges as they launch into adulthood.  Our approach enhances other physical therapy treatments that might be received on a weekly or monthly basis.
